What types of files are accepted?

The optimal file format for submitting your artwork is Adobe Acrobat PDF.

Before sending your files, please ensure you have completed the following preparation steps:

Essential Pre-Press Checklist

1. Convert Text to Outlines
Convert all text to outlines or paths. The exact terminology depends on your software. If conversion is not possible, you must include all fonts with your submission.

2. Image Resolution
All images and relevant artwork must be at a minimum of 300 DPI before designing the layout. In some instances, higher resolution versions may be requested.

3. Include Bleed
Include bleed on all layouts to avoid delays in your order setup. As a general rule, A6 sizes and below require 1.5mm bleed on each edge. A5 sizes and above require 3mm on each edge.

4. File Labeling
Ensure all artwork files are clearly labelled (e.g., JoeBloggs_Front.pdf, JoeBloggs_Back.pdf).

Vector-Based Artwork (Preferred)

• Adobe Illustrator (.ai)

• Corel Draw! (.cdr)
• Encapsulated Postscript (.eps) — most vector art packages can export to this format
• Macromedia Freehand (.fh) — problems are likely; please send a different format if possible
• Microsoft Publisher (.pub)
• Microsoft Word (.doc)
• Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt)
• Quark Express (.qxd) — problems are likely; please export as .eps to minimize issues

Bitmap-Based Artwork

Only use this format type if you cannot supply vector artwork.

• Adobe Photoshop Image (.psd) — include fonts used and do not flatten text layers
• Bitmap Image (.bmp)
• Fireworks PNG (.png) — fonts must be included
• PNG Image (.png)
• JPEG Image (.jpg, .jpeg)
• TIFF Image Document (.tif)
